April is an important month in Taekwondo history because, on April 11, 1955, the word taekwondo was coined and it is considered the birthday of traditional taekwondo. This month also marks one year since the official rebranding of the United States Taekwondo Association, created by Grandmaster Richard Chun in 1980.
