As we enter another holiday season, as always, the Chosun Taekwondo Academy offers an anecdote to the frenetic pace that can envelop us.
As you make your "to do" list and check it twice... don't forget your training... it is a steadfast constant and provides the needed respite from the stress of the season. Chosun is unique in that we offer many programs to stay calm           and centered...
The Chosun Yoga program, ongoing Qigong classes and our monthly meditation classes offer ways to find the true joy of the season by engaging in age-old practices that help us connect to the human spirit and humanity.

 The month of May signifies a time of increased light, regeneration and growth.  But there are other aspects of this magical month to consider. May is number five in the year's lineup and correlates to the five elements in all matter and the five senses that connect the brain to the tangible world. 
For the martial artist, the five tenets of Taekwondo; Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit, act as a code of conduct and guide for ethical living.

This month also marks the official rebranding of the United States Taekwondo Association, created by Grandmaster Richard Chun in 1980. Aside from being one of Grandmaster Chun's most profound mottos, these three simple words are clearly heavy with meaning. It helps us remember that taekwondo can be for LIFE if we accept it. In 2023, don't squander your taekwondo. Embrace it. Practice it. Allocate time for this most valuable of assets.
